To do my project "The Sad Story about Littering", I decided to look for inspiration among interesting photographers who deal with artistic photography and typical street reportage. Due to the fact that I have to make a street story in the form of a photo book, the inspiration of the artists discussed below seems right.
Henri Cartier-Bresson
He was a French photographer who was born in Chanteloup, France, on August 22, 1908, and died in Céreste, France, on August 3, 2004. Henri Cartier-Bresson was a passionate street and reporter photographer. In a special and poetic way, he was able to capture the right moment in a photograph. His works are appreciated all over the world to this day. Movement is very important in his photographs. He photographed in black and white style. In my story, I would also like to use black and white photography as a form of communication. By capturing the right moment, I would like my photos to come to life and be more interesting for the recipient. Below are some examples of his photos.
Henri Cartier-Bresson - The Gare Saint-Lazare, 1932
When working on my project, I would like to use non-obvious compositions as in the picture. Reflection in the water surface. Blurred motion. Vertical photography. The photo above shows just such a picture. The photo shows slight chaos. This photo is black and white. The man in the photo is black, so probably had light behind him and the photo was taken without a lamp. The artist captured this man movement in an interesting way.The photo above shows another non-obvious frame. The photo was taken from above. Movement the same as in the previous photo is blurred. What I could be inspired by in my project is position from which the photo was taken. Also, I could blur the movement of some passer- by to bring photography to life.
Bruce Gilden
Another interesting photographer that inspires me to create my project is Bruce Gilden. He was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1946. This photographer takes very dynamic street photos. We can see emotions very clearly in the pictures. The method of framing is non-obvious and unique. The artist became famous for photographing people very closely with the use of flash paw. I would like to use and slightly modify this method in my story. I want to take very close pictures of the hero of my story about littering the streets. Below are some examples of his photos.
Antoine Repessé
Another photographer who inspires me in creating my project about garbage is Antoine Repessé. In 2011, this photographer stopped throwing away his recyclable rubbish to create an interesting series of photos related to the subject of waste. His most famous project is called "365 Unpacked". Below are some interesting photo ideas that I can use in my project. For example, I can bury my character in garbage to drama the whole situation.
Glad you added it. However, add references. This will give you extra marks for passing this module.
